As Good As It Gets (U#10265)

This is a very spacious 6 bedroom house that easily met the needs of our 4 families (13 adults and 2 kids). The kitchen is nice and has everything you need, and has a large refrigerator which was nice. The surround sound was a nice unexpected feature that we enjoyed watching movies in the evenings. Of course the best thing is the beach, and this house is one of the closest to the beach with easy direct access from the house. This part of the beach is not very busy during the week. There is drive on access in this part of the beach, so be sure to get out early on the weekends to claim your spot, it was very busy on Saturday, but no problems. We enjoyed our stay and would defintatly come back to this house.

Great house semi secluded. On the beach ! Plenty of room for family of 15 . Kid friendly high chair and pack n play there . Only hitch was in booking , i booked with VRBO then they took rental off website so it was difficult to revisit to know rules for the house! I had to keep calling Blue water management to get answers on whether I was truly booked and paid up !! We were driving 8 hrs to get there! Check in wasn’t really clear I didn’t receive forms or instructions. But once we got there and checked in had get time !!! We will be back !

The house was clean and roomy.
To have such a nice place, and ruin it with the smell of the house water supply. It was a terrible sulfur type smell, my wife would not take a shower.
Will not return until a filter is installed.
I would recommend with a warning.

Our family of 10 rented this home for a family vacation. Overall the home had plenty of space. The kitchen was well stocked. It was great to have 4 bathrooms (even though one of the showers did not work) and the location was nice.

Cons: this home needs a lot of routine maintenance/upkeep. The water smelled awful, sort of a mix of iron and sewage. Several boards on the stairs/deck were sticking up and/or had nailheads sticking out. The tile throughout the main living area was loose, broken or coming up in several places. My father cut his toe on one of them. There is a window seal in the den that is rotten. The primary bathtub upstairs was almost rusted through. The door knob to the balcony from the primary does not function, therefore only the deadbolt keeps the door closed. There is no closing the door if you walk out on the balcony. The stairs on the walkover, beachside, need an extra step at the bottom as it is a steep drop off from the bottom step to the sand. Overall, the house was nice, it just needs to be maintained.

We truly enjoyed our stay over the Memorial weekend. Had I known that the house had everything you could think of I could’ve saved my husband from hauling. Games, babies pack & play, Several crock pots, double oven, & plenty of room with open concept. Loved the fact of the 4 king bedrooms & 2 bunk rooms. The only thing I would suggest is bring plenty of water, brushing teeth, making coffee, etc.. Very pleased with the sheets & didn’t mind making our beds. It would be nice to have a gate on the deck to keep the toddlers safe. I brought my baby gate from home & tie wrapped it at the opening. One mishap & our fault was leaving our EZ Up Canopies on beach. First night they were ok the next day, the second night someone stole all 3 canopies. Crummy thieves! Overall we Loved the home & plan on coming back.

Family had wedding in Galveston. Most of family came to beach house to stay. Beach and house were beautiful. Wife wished there was more toilet paper.

I have been vacationing at Surfside since the early 70's. Bluewater has been fantastic all through the years even before they were called Bluewater. The houses always suit us to a Tee and any issues are quickly resolved.

We will attempt to rent this same house when we return to Surfside Beach in the summer of 2024.

This June ‘22 was our 8th year to rent this beautiful house for the 16 of Us. It was another Great visit. Looking forward to Our 9th summer here in ‘23!

We rented “As Good as it Gets” for six nights. It is a very good house, we split the cost between multiple families. We had two issues while staying there, the outside cold water knob broke off, and one of the AC units stopped working. However, both issues were handled immediately by the staff and restored to working order quickly.

This property was well located, stocked and I simply loved the layout of the house. Many in our group could barely navigate stairs and we had 3 bedrooms on the bottom floor, great!!!!! There were a few problems with the fire alarms going off without any causes but maintenance said they would find the problem as soon as the property was vacant so they could do a thorough check. We enjoyed our stay and the security on the clean beach was wonderful. We will rent this property again and would recommend it to others in a heartbeat!!!!!

House was great. Clean, well maintained and up to date. I have stayed in several others throughout the years and this one is by far the nicest Ive seen. Great location and house floor plan was perfect for our group. My only wish was that the stairs to the beach connected to the deck. Not a deal breaker but would have been nice to not to have to go down and up every time.

House was great....lots of room...clean. The location was very nice. 1 Recommendation, Mosquitos were absolutely unbelievable, make sure you have off or your coming back with West Nile lol

Security cameras have been installed on front balcony and they talk 24 hours a day. Most bathroom fixtures need to be replaced very hard to turn on and off. One bedroom smelled like a dog had peed

This is our second year in a row to stay in this house. We had three families here with small children. Everyone had their own space. We loved the big ocean front deck and the quick access to the beach.

This is a nice property in a good location. We had 2 maintenance issues during our stay and both were addressed by the management team. We would definitely recommend this house!

This was a wonderful beach front home for a family vacation. The home and its appliances were very clean and in excellent shape. Had no problems whatsoever. Big dining table for family dinner as well as for board and card games. Big nice open living area with large sectional couch to relax. Nice back porch with plenty of seating and shade. Highly recommend this house.

Overall, we had a good time here. The location was great and the home was in good condition; not totally updated, but not old. We were a little frustrated about a few things though...

1) The home was lacking basic needs. i.e. no salt and pepper. From my experience, items such as this are left from renter to renter (if not furnished by default) and there's always some basic necessities available, we had to start from scratch.

2) We had to put on our own sheets to start the trip. I've never had to put on sheets at a place I'm renting, much less paying what we paid for this per night. I was pretty disappointed from that standpoint.

We expected a minor checklist before we left, but I felt as though I had to do the landlord's / cleaning agent's job. (put your own sheets on bed to start, before leaving, take said sheets back off, sweep, vacuum, make beds, or be penalized... whaaaat?)

This home was perfect for our Thanksgiving!! We had everything we needed for our feast! Bring you own seasonings and you'll be as happy!! The house was just as the pictures show and better! Great for a gathering & social distancing! Love our time together! Thank you as this was "As Good As It Gets!!"

We have rented from Bluewater for 20 plus years and always a great experience and will continue to rent from them. With that said, the dishwasher broke the first day of our week long stay and was not repaired/replaced. I own rentals myself and know it takes about 1-2 hours to replace a dishwasher. It should have been done but was not. Bluewater are fine people and never a problem. This one will be overlooked but they could have done better. Maybe a small discount would have been nice. I would still recommend them.

This was my second time renting this house, and I was pleasantly surprised with the new furniture. That would have been my only suggestion from last year. I totally felt at home and everyone had plenty of space. The house has everything you need, and the beach access to perfect! I have rented several houses in Surfside and this is now my go-to house.

My whole family loves this place. We had a great time. Pictures do not do the house justice. It’s way bigger in person and way cuter. Plenty of space and everything you need. Beach front and just a short walk. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved this home. Stayed a week with about 10 of us which included two small children. The only thing I would mention for others was there were no basic spices or even salt and pepper there. This caught us off guard because most rentals provide that. It wasn't mentioned in anything I read ahead of time either. I called ahead to ask several specific questions and what I was told didn't match what the house actually had.
(For example, there's a Kuerig there, multiple crock pots etc. but I was told there wasn't.
I would have loved a very detailed printable list of what was provided so I didn't have to call and ask.)
Also, for these Covid times, be aware there was no hand soap in the kitchen or most of the bathrooms.

Looking forward to 2021 in 'AGAIG' again!! First time in As good As It Gets. Great floor plan and location. All you need is your toiletries, soap, paper goods and food. Everything else is supplied. You will need laundry soap to wash towels though. You only get 1 towel and wash cloth per guest. Overall a very nice place to stay. The weather was great with lots of wind and no fighting the mosquitoes.

This is our fourth year to stay with our family at this wonderful beach house. We love this house and love the location on the beach. Clean, roomy, was available at check-in time and rental company Is always friendly and professional.

Best vacation ever. The house was beautiful and so comfortable. Bedrooms and baths were all set up nicely. The kitchen had everything you can possibly need for cooking. I highly recommend and hope to return next year.

We were there for a wedding at Stahlman Park. We could not have been happier with the location of the house. We were able to check in a little early and the staff was more than helpful. The house was super clean, comfortable, and the perfect size for our group. We will definitely be renting with Bluewater again!

We rented this house to celebrate a couple of birthdays for the weekend. They did an excellent job building this house. The layout is perfect. Start at the main room.Large area for gatherings. The kitchen is perfect and fully stocked for your cooking needs. The rooms are well thought.More than enough room. The outside deck faces the beach. It was big enough to set up a DJ table and have a dance floor. Perfect for some outdoor entertainment. The only fall back was the potable water. Being from this area, I know the issue with Surfside water. I would definitely rent again and especially from this rental company.

We have rented this house a few times in the past so we knew what to expect. And our expectations were met perfectly. This is a very nice house with an efficient layout...basically living space and then 6 bedrooms...and we need all 6. So it worked out well!!! It is a little on the expensive side. We have rented with BRR so many times that we know Letha as she has been there for a long time. She is always easy and a pleasure to work with.

This is our third year to visit Surfside and stay at "As Good As It Gets". We love this beach house and its location. Our family of 14 stayed there and had plenty of room. Roomy, neat, great floor plan, great location on beach. We have stayed in other rentals in prior years but this one gets 100% satisfaction and more. LOVE "As Good As It Gets"

Thus was one of the best houses I have rented in Surfside. Perfect sleeping arrangement and plenty of room to move around.

Very Good. The weather was good most of the time. The layout of the house was great. Plenty of room in the kitchen and dining area.
The deck chairs were a poor quality. Needs another picnic table on the deck.

This is our 2nd stay and we had a wonderful time. Love the house and location. 12 in our party and we had plenty of room. The location of this home is fantastic!!

We stayed here with another family and it was perfect. The kitchen was well stocked and everything was clean. Location was perfect with easy access to the store across the street and also the private walkover to the beach. The only strange part was that the quality of the bath towels provided were really terrible. They were torn or super thin or ragged along the edges. For such a nice property it seems like we should have received nicer towels.

We had a fantastic time! House was conveniently located to beach, and plenty of room for our 16 people! Didn't get into home until 5pm as we had to wait for cleaning crew. Found broken refrigerator shelf, broken towel bar in bathroom and screws loose in stools and chairs.

This house is beautiful. Prefect for our large group. Age range 2-60. Great beach access. We would love to stay here again.

This was the perfect place to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary! The house had enough rooms for each couple to have their own space as well as rooms for all of the grandkids. We loved the open concept and the view from the deck was phenomenal! This was a fabulous vacation rental for the 15 of us. If we make it back to Surfside, we most definitely will be renting this house again!

This house lives up to its name! The living room was large enough to accommodate all 10 in our party, as was the dining table, and the kitchen was open and fun for us to cook together. The layout of the bedrooms/baths made it very comfortable for everyone's privacy and the home itself was just beautiful! The beds were comfortable and everyone slept well. The location could not have been better for our needs -beach access walking over from the house and then the public access road to the beach that we could load up and drive to not far up the highway. There was also a nice public fishing and crabbing area just a short way across the road. The RO water wasn't working but we always take large bottles of water when we come to Surfside so that wasn't a bother for us. One thing you need to note is that you are responsible for all the paper products - paper towels, toilet paper, coffee filters, trash bags, as well as salt, pepper, PAM, etc. The house is fully stocked with all the dishes, cookware and utensils. I would come back to this house in a heartbeat! Wish I was there now standing out on the deck watching the surf...

Everything was great! Definitely would stay there again.

We stayed for a week with our entire family and had a wonderful time. "As Good As It Gets" was clean, well decorated, nice kitchen, roomy and right on the beach. Our children truly enjoyed being able to walk from the house directly onto the beach....what fun!! "On The River" Restaurant catered a seafood meal one evening at the beach house and the food was excellent.
