Captain Hook (U#10293)

We took our annual family vacation and stayed in Captain Hook for the first time. We all enjoyed staying in this house. It accommodated all of our needs and was all around a very nice house to stay in. We liked it so much we are planning on renting this house again next year.
The cookware was not so good, food sticking and such. But one quick phone call to the property manager and we had a new set of pots and pan delivered to us. Our family would highly recommend this house, it was clean and had a walk over right to the beach. We also enjoyed seeing the sunrises and sunsets from the deck and especially enjoyed family time.

Our annual trip to Capt Hook was interrupted by Beryl. We had to leave quite fast on Sunday. We went back for a quick visit on Wednesday to get our stuff left behind. Power and water was iffy but we were only allowed to get our items and leave. The property itself did quite well and was undamaged. I assume we will receive a rebate on the remaining 5 days. As a police officer instructed “you have to leave now” sure glad we did.

This was a great vacation home for our large family. Customer service is great. Every large bedrooms and common area. House was clean. Nice beach front property. The kids enjoyed the movie room. We will rent again

my family and I love this house. We come once a year and the house has enough room to sleep everyone comfortably we play games love this house.

Great experience with Captain Hook

Renting homes year after year we have always enjoyed the staff and treatment from bluewater resorts . This time our disappointment was we rented two homes with a bridge for our elderly family to connect and the bridge was gone without any notice which made for a long weekend z 5

We always have a wonderful time while staying at this house! We rent it every March and enjoy our stay each time. It is a big house and is a great location.

Couldn't ask for a better experience. Our entire family (11 adults, 6 children) have enjoyed staying at the "Captain Hook" beach for the holidays for 3 years. Each stay was fantastic. Letna in the office was the perfect host. We will continue to stay at the "Captain Hook" for our future family get togethers.

We had our daughters wedding on the beach on the 19th of August. We rented two houses side by side for the brides family and the grooms family. The houses were clean, and had plenty of room! We had to call maintenance about a faulty plug and they responded and had it fixed with in 24 hours! We could not have had a better experience! Next time we will stay here for a family vacation!

It was fabulous! The house is very large, well maintained and right on the beach. We will definitely be coming back next year!!

My family absolutely loved Captain Hook.The entire property was clean,the beds were comfortable,there was enough space for the entire family.We will definitely rent this property again.The view to the beach was awesome. Cudoos to the owner for a well kept property.

The beach house was perfect. Beautiful updates and lots of space for all 20 of us. We did have an issue with one of the AC units but maintenance came out and fixed immediately. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Will rent again next year!

We love renting this house every year! It is right on the beach and has plenty of rooms and bathrooms. Great house and great space!

Captain Hook never disappoints... We’ve been coming here since 2015, when she was first built. It’s perfect for large gatherings. We always look forward to our visit here, no matter what time of year, summer or winter!

Came here for a ladies retreat from our church. This is a yearly trip for us. Everything was great, from start to finish.

We had 21 women, only 1 bed had a broken box spring. The rooms were very nice, enough furniture to accommodate us all at once. Most said to rent this house again for next year. The kitchen was great! Beautiful view for sunrise, our favorite part of being there.
This house is not brand new though. has to be a few years old but totally worth it. just needs a few minor repairs which I told them about.

The Captain Hook was perfect for our group. This was our 11th year to meet here with high school friends (ladies only) and rekindle old friendships and nurture new ones. There is plenty of room, the beds are good, and everything is clean. The outside ramp made everything easily accessible. Love the large great room and the deck is wonderful to watch the beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

My Deuces Wild Group thoroughly enjoyed themselves at the Captain Hook property. The accommodations were exactly what we needed for our group. The property had everything we needed...everything was clean...and the customer service from the rental office was group is excited and planning to stay at the property again next year. Bluewater and Captain Hook Rocks!

The home was very nice and spacious. Beautiful place with all the amenities needed. The one suggestion is the stove and pots need to be upgraded. Inform guest of how bad the mosquitoes are so they can be on guard for them.Overall we had a great time. Would highly recommend it.

We always enjoy our time at Captains Hook for Fourth of July! Signs of wear on the house but nothing that limits its functionality. Were sad someone else got it for next year...

A few electric plugs didn’t work, minor inconvenience. We are happy about the policy of parking cars against the dunes. We love Surfside, best value of the area.

It was two beach houses for a church ladies retreat! Awesome place!!!

Had 22 members in our group and loved the room Captain Hook provided. Had beds and bathrooms for everyone and the direct access to the beach along with a large patio made it easy for everyone to find some space to enjoy the vacation. The large well stocked kitchen with two dishwashers made it easy to serve meals for everyone. When we arrived the home was clean and ready for us to enjoy. Would definitely book another large gathering there in a heartbeat.

We were very disappointed in this rental property. This place could use some serious upgrades. The door to enter the home was absolutely filthy dirty; the home was not cleaned very well and we had to do some cleaning ourselves; the stove is old and dirty; there’s an outlet on the floor and the cover was missing; broken blinds; washer and dryer are old and takes forever to dry a load of clothes. All of this was discussed with management after checking in and they were not helpful at all.

Excellent view, comfortable bedrooms, capacity for large groups, includes all the tools you need for cleaning or cooking. I would definitely go back to Captain Hook!

It was a lovely stay with family. We also rented the house next door and both homes accommodated our large family well. There is a bit of upkeep that needs to be done, but nothing that ruined the experience completely. The ceiling fan in the back queen bedroom did not work and there is a plate missing on a floor electrical outlet in living area. And the vent for the dryer needed cleaning--it took hours to dry a load of laundry. We reported the dryer to a worker that arrived as we were leaving and he said he would clean the vent. The house was very comfortable and fit our needs. We will be back next year.

Captain Hook was the perfect beach house for our family vacation. There were 21 of us. The kitchen is well stocked with all that was needed to prepare food for all our crew. The two refrigerators and 2 ovens were just what we needed. The location was perfect as we could see the beach and walk right down the wood walkway to get there. The house was big and open. The porch was another area we enjoyed in the evening when we didn’t feel like going down to the beach. The property management company was very responsive. The description stated there was a grill and it was missing when we got there. They quickly brought us a grill to use and replaced it with the bigger one as soon as they got it. The wooden walk way had a loose hand rail at the end by the beach that fell down. They sent someone out that evening to fix it. We had a wonderful time and made some great memories! We would highly recommend this location.

The 8 bedrooms make it easy to host the whole family.

As a valued customer of over 30 years, my family and I continue to enjoy renting beautiful homes from bluewater resort rentals!!

The house is very nice. Good layout with lots of space. The kitchen is great for cooking meals with two refrigerators and two dishwashers. Access to the beach is very convenient. Was not happy with the hospitality aspect. Management leaves bags of clean towels and linens. You have to put sheets on our own beds, distribute towels, etc. They do provide a couple of rolls of tp, but no paper towels, no trashbags, no soaps, dish soap, etc. The cost ends up being about $1,000 per night and you have to immediately go to the store and buy some of the basic things that most VRBO properties already have. The property has great potential but the cost is out of whack given that nothing is supplied.

Excellent, all had a good time. Suggest some chairs for the deck.

Our family spends a week at Surfside each year. We have rented many various houses over the past 20 years. As our family has grown so has our need for larger houses. Captain Hook was perfect for our needs. All rooms on one level (some of us are getting older) and the fact that it has a media room was golden. We have 10 kids under the age of 12. Our only and really biggest complaint was that the wi-fi access was practically non existent. Several of the family must continue to work for portions of the week and wi-fi is a must. We resorted to hot spots on our phones to continue to do what had to be done. All in all we would be happy to rent it again next year but it has already been rented during the time we can have our family trip. (Sad face emoji). The walk over to the beach is right outside your door. If you plan to spend much time on the beach having a popup tent is vital. We leave the frame up for the time we are there but take down the canopies as we have lost several during overnight storms. The wind will demolish the entire thing if left up. Also if you value your beach chairs/boogie boards do not leave them overnight as we lost several this year. A mistake we will not make again. Surfside is a great beach. It is clean and for the past few years there has been little or no seaweed. The beach is cared for by the town and they do a beautiful job of keeping it awesome. If you plan to stay for awhile and plan to cook please know that there is no large grocery store and that type of shopping should be done in Lake Jackson which now has multiple great grocery stores. Although we will not be able to stay in Captain Hook next year we will be in one of the other houses as Surfside is the place to be.

Perfect for multiple families. Easy access to beach. Very nice and clean. Plenty of parking. The kitchen is awesome with 2 refrigerators making meal prep for 14 for a week easy.

The house was beautiful! We all had a great time!

We've stayed at quite a few of the homes on Bluewater Hwy & this one, by far, is THE best one yet.
We are hooked on Captain Hook.

Worth every penny

The Wi-Fi (slow) and the tv (you could only watch 3 at a time) small issues. But I would rent again, and again, this was only a problem at bedtime, when those who watch tv til they fall asleep. Lots of space and media room was cute.

We had our wedding reception under Pirates Booty and Captain Hook. The 295 guests that showed up stayed underneath both houses, as well as 35 sleepover guests. The layout was perfect with the houses being connected. There is also a bridge walk path straight to the beach. We tried releasing lanterns, but it was too windy. Everyone had a great time! Two families have already reserved their beach house for the next holiday. It is always a pleasure working with BRRI. The staff is always helpful, courteous, and quick to respond to any issues.

We had an excellent experience! The house is beautiful the decor is classy and the weekend was an absolute blast !! You will definitely be back again! There was plenty of room took her to lounge and to sleep.

This was our 4th year at Surfside and our 4th year renting from Bluewater Resort Rentals. We can't wait for next year!
