Hang Loose (U#10268)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hang Loose Beach House. The rental was close to our cousins who booked a few steps away. The house was spacious and right off the water. We were able to accommodate 10 people with ease. The only downside is the house should offer hand soap, toilet paper and paper towels. Also we noticed that a patio chair was broken due to rust on the bottom. Otherwise, it was a great stay and we will visit again.

Had a great time. The house was wonderful. Had a couple of minor issues with hot water & dishwasher, but both were resolved to our satisfaction, and we were offered an additional night stay (we opted for a later checkout). Would definitely stay here again!

Couldn’t ask for a better location. Beach access easy down the walkway. You can park your car on the beach and we were able to load stuff in and out of a car for the day easily. The house has a perfect amount of space inside and shaded sitting area outside for a big group. We were 9 adults and 7 children. No shared sleeping/living areas like other rentals which is ideal as everyone has their own bedroom. My only negative is that renters are expected to put all linens on the 12 beds and take them off before leaving. This added time to setting up instead of arriving ready to be on vacation. I only knew this from reading reviews before booking and feel it would be more transparent for it to be on the listing details instead of in the rental agreement after paying. But other than that minor inconvenience we had a great stay and the staff were helpful upon check in and check out when we realized we forgot something and had to go back and get it after turning in the keys. Would definitely stay here again!

Great house for families with kids! Balcony is big enough for our extended family to gather with 8 grandsons (1-14 years old)!

It was great - no problems with anything in the house - everything worked just fine and the house is super nice inside. A/C works super good!!!!
Would be cool if the house had two fridges, but that's because we brought so much beer!! haha

This house had the perfect floorplan for our group of 10 adults and 3 children. (We had some unused beds so the home can accommodate more people.)The kitchen was well equipped and there was plenty of space to eat at a large table and bar. There was a big picnic table outside as well. Comfortable outdoor furniture on the covered deck made it nice to sit in the shade and watch the surf. The access to the beach was excellent. Our family plans to return to this house next summer for our annual reunion.

The house was a good size and well laid out. easy access to beach. Putting on our own sheets and supplying all of our own cleaning and personal supplies was not an issue. There was a significant amount of mold, we ended up having a baby and adult get sick and have to leave early due to mold. Baby ended up with respiratory illness and a rash on her face. I reached out to management and did not get a response.

House was very spacious, plenty of room for everyone. Very clean, nice kitchen, plenty of bathrooms. Would stay here again in a heart beat. Great location on the beach, not too far down from all the restaurants and such.

Fabulous house! Great location with plenty of space. I’d recommend getting new couches, new patio furniture, and some updated kitchen knives and pans.

The Hang Loose vacation home was very clean. The kitchen was stocked with everything you need to make great meals. The fridge was large and worked very well. Be sure that the settings show 36 degrees for fridge section...sometimes when switching water/ice setting you may hit temp button and put fridge to 45. Figured it out quickly. Charcoal grill was great! Covered porch area was used A LOT! Great view of the ocean. The beds were very comfortable. Family enjoyed this beautiful home. Highly recommend.

We had a great stay it was a much needed little getaway for our family. Management was great to work with the only problem we had was we couldn’t get the fridge to cool right but the freezer did work so that helped. We were told it was a new appliance and that it could have been on vacation mode so whatever the case we did fine with our coolers for drinks so we did open and close the refrigerator often. We loved the house and it’s location. We would definitely rent again.

I came down for college spring break with a group of 16 & the house was everything we were expecting! As far as location, there wasn't much to do in the area unless we wanted to drive far. The house itself was great & we were impressed with the layout! A blueprint would be helpful to note where the bathrooms are located because all of them connect somehow to the hallway - which was super helpful for 16 people. We also wish there was a bigger system for the distilled water because we needed to buy a lot of water bottles. Otherwise, we loved the boardwalk to the beach, and the rules were very straightforward. The rental company itself was great and always very delightful to be in contact with.

Everything was great except the only fridge/freezer in the house was not working. Maintenance told us been working on it for years with no luck so we were stuck without the freezer and buying tons of ice all weekend

We had my sons 4th birthday celebration here and had such a wonderful experience. The space was a great size, plenty of rooms and bathrooms and clean. The distance from the beach was just right! We will def be back again. The ladies at the agency were warm and friendly.

This property was exactly as described & photographed. The location was perfect & we especially loved our private pier to access the beach. Pretty much bring whatever you will need for cooking in the kitchen, besides a well stocked supply of pots, pans, backing dishes, etc. there are no seasonings, garbage bags, cooking spray, etc. None of this was an issue for us, because the rental property made us aware of all of this prior to. The property was very clean. We have had other beach houses be filthy & have to have the cleaning crew come out after our arrival. I personally liked placing the sheets on my bed, because they were individually wrapped so you knew they were clean & the beds didn't just get made up after the previous renters. Our group couldn't get over how much space this house had. There were 10 adults, 1 baby & 1 teenager & we all had our own space. Our group decided we will stay at Hang Loose every year! Blue Water Rental Co. did a great job in preparing us for what we needed to bring with us so there were no surprises. Our group ate lunch at The Seahorse Grill one day & it was amazing! I grew up in the area & my family also likes to eat at the Red Snapper Inn & Beach Front Deck Bar & Grill.

Loved the house, kitchen was well equipped, location was perfect, not as much furniture on the deck as shown on website. Only real problem was the trash situation. Upon arrival, the trash cans were all at the street and only one had wheels to make it portable enough to get to the house. We also had no way of knowing which days were pick up days. We had to lug trash bags out to the street once the one can was filled. I tried to ask questions about the location prior to rental and did not receive an answer either time, I had to make a phone call to get response. Other than those issues, it was great.

The house was great, large enough for our big family.
It had everything you needed in the kitchen to cook with.
Some of the beds were a little on the hard side but doable.
House was clean but could use a very good deep cleaning. We will be back to enjoy it again.

Unless you want to clean house on vacation, I would definitely not recommend this place. They expect you to put sheets on beds, clean the entire house, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dishes, make beds (with dirty comforters from you and who knows how many other people) and anything else you can think of. There were no towels in restrooms, you have to put those in there too, no toilet paper, bring your own, no paper towels or hand soap. This is by far the worst experience we have ever had in a vrbo rental. The location is great and the house was nice for our large group but just felt very dirty and unkept and needed maintenance.

We had a wonderful time at Surfside beach. The Hang Loose is a beautiful beach house and it has everything you need to make your trip great. Will definitely be renting this house again!

It was an absolute perfect house for our family, our wedding was perfect and we did not want our week to end❤️The rental experience through bluewater was very pleasant as well.

Beautiful home and the location/access to the beach was excellent. Our stay would have been perfect except for the following:
1 ALL bunk bed coiled mattresses were INTOLERABLE.
2 Need new king mattress in room at bottom of stairs.
Suggestions: more dish towels, new broom, needs a crockpot

The family/kitchen area was fabulous! Loved the home layout, and great extra touches (water hose, parking spaces, dishes, plenty of bath towels). Overall, a great stay for our large family. If new mattresses, we would happily stay here again.

Best time ever! Had to change houses at the last minute due to Tropical Storm Laura. We paid a little more but it was worth every penny. Booking was very easy. We needed nothing but food.

We've been coming to SurfSide for more than 20 years, and we have used Bluewater Resort [previously Brannen?] for all reservations. Never a bad time!

The Cal-Sey is very nice and our family enjoyed the spacious house and beach front location! A few minor issues - house smelled a little musty - some shower curtains could be replaced - a few light fixtures could be repaired and light bulbs burned out - a bedroom ceiling fan missing a blade. The house has a great kitchen with nice appliances. The main living area is large with room for everyone! Four full bathrooms perfect for us! Some bedrooms are small but we only used them for sleeping so no problem! Overall a great gathering place to spend time with family and friends!

We were there during tropical storm Imelda. We had a few minor issues due the storm and the staff was immediate in their response. We have used them for years and would recommend them and their rentals. When we arrived, the house was not as clean as we would have hoped. However, it was minimal and we did not feel the need to contact the staff. I am sure they would have fixed the problem right away. The house needs a lot more standard kitchen items. Kitchen is not properly equipped. We love the house and have been renting this very one for years. Just know you need to bring kitchen cooking items and you're good to go.

My mom-s 90th birthday party / family reunion was held at the Cal-Sey. Overall, we were very pleased and had such a good time. The house has plenty of bed/bath/living and outdoor space. Our only complaint was that the house could use a little deep cleaning; freezer door needs repairing; shower curtains need replacing; need a better vacuum cleaner (although for the price, I don't feel we should have to vacuum). It was nice that sheets and towels were included. We really did have a great time though and the weather was hot but beautiful!

Overall the Cal-Sey was in a great location. The home needs a few minor fixes to complete a great house. The kitchen cabinet doors were in need of some repair and the BBQ grill need to be replaced it was rusted thru.

We’ve been coming to Surfside for 20 years and Bluewater always comes through with a great stay and customer service. Look forward to next year.

We had 20 ladies stay for our 3rd annual Ladies Retreat, and this house was amazing! It is roomy, cozy, and right on the beach! We loved it!

Our family has been gathering at Surfside for 9 of last 10 years. Its a long weekend of relaxing, fun and memory-making that everyone looks forward to. The Cal-Sey is a perfect size for our gang 16-19) and has all the amenities we like. This was our third year of staying in this house and plan to return to it next year.

The house was beautiful and clean. Steps from the beach. We really enjoyed our stay.
Just that we thought we paid for cleaning fee but the check out list has a lot of cleaning ourselves before we leave, if not there would be additional charges. The price was not cheap for us to have to do all that clean up.

Our family has rented beach houses in Surfside 25 or 30 times and this house is by far the best.

the pictures did not do this house justice!! The house is wonderfully open and spacious feeling. The rooms had more space in them than other rentals we have been in. By far the best rental house we have experienced so far!!! Everything about this house was comfort and easy access to the beach. Covered patio enabled ALL day shade, to enjoy the view. Just wonderful!!!!

I loved this property. Very clean, well maintained and up to date amenities. Definitely a property I would book again. The staff was very polite and helpful. My only complaint is that it needs a new outdoor grill. It's old and makes it hard to cook on.

The wifi connection is not good at all. Even after the tech came out and got a new router it just seems to have issues and did not live up to our expectations. We were here for the beach so no big deal. Also, house needs more plates and bowls. Just not enough of them. We had to wash plates for every meal. Would be nice to have double of these items. Overall a fantastic experience and we will be back. Bluewater Resort Rentals is top notch and the people are very professional.

Family vacation (total of 20) had a wonderful experience with the home. It was without doubt the best rental we have ever had at Surfside. Decor was wonderful and the location superb.
Everyone should have an opportunity to stay at this location.

The only thing I would add would be regular mattresses to the full size bunk beds. For families wanting to stay with young children. Overall it was fantastic!

The home was outstanding. Enjoyed the stay so much.

I am very pleased with all the experiences related to renting my beach house this year. The booking was easily done and the house was one of the best I have stayed in during my 30+ years of vacationing at Surfside Beach, TX.

The Cal-Sey is a beautiful house. We loved the decor. It was the best house I have rented since I've been renting beach houses. The first time I walked in it I was blown away. Never had I rented a house that was so warm and beautiful. The ladies raved about the house and about how unique it was. I will rent it again and I would recommend it to others. We absolutely loved staying in it.

The house was so pretty that it made it easy to have a great vacation. Next year will be year 9 for us so that should say it all. Thank y'all for a great house.

Wonderful week at the beach. We met up with our kids and grand kids for a week at the beach. This house is set up in such a way that there is enough space for everyone without tripping over each other! The decor is awesome, so cute and be achy. Beautiful deck for gathering together or having a quiet cup of coffee at sunrise. This place is awesome and right on the beach! Would definitely come back.

We have rented beach houses at Surfside about 10 times over the last couple of decades. I call this house a home because that is really what it is. We have had great houses before but this one takes the cake! Sometime over the last few years the beach has apparently become public drive-on. We were disappointed at that but impressed that people seemed to try to avoid parking in front of the big houses. We had no problems with having "our space" on the beach. We had to call the after hours number about a beeping smoke detector. Seriously, even after hours, a repair guy was there in 15 minutes, determined the problem, and replaced the unit on the spot. After all these years and despite the public beach status, we still highly recommend Surfside, Brannon Realty, and now Cal-Sey to anyone who needs a relaxing, stress-free getaway! Go there!!!...now!!! : )

They did tack on an extra day for the Memorial Day holiday, which wasn't in the initial booking, but after that, everything was great. The property is gorgeous and right on the beach. Couldn't have asked fir anything more.

The house was even better than what the pictures portray. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms to have a big group stay. The house is in a great location if you're wanting quiet relaxing beach time

The house and Surfside in general exceeded our expectations! None of us have been down to Surfside in a lot of years. We had orignially planned on renting in Galveston, but are so glad that we ended up in Surfside.

Everyone was so impressed by the house! It has a great deck, plenty of beds and 3 nice big TVs. The property was right on the beach. We were built a fire on the beach at night and made smores!

The only negative thing about the whole weekend was the Surfside water. There is a noticeable metalic smell/taste to it. I suggest bringing enough bottle water to drink AND to brush teeth with.

We totally enjoyed our stay. We come every year and the entire extended family comes. The house was large enough for everyone to hang out but also have their own space. We had a great time. See you next year!

We recently gathered here for my husband's 40th bday celebration. We were accompanied by our immediate family and we were all impressed by this beach house! Layout of the house is perfect and the interior decor is so pretty, owners payed attention to detail. Definitely on our list to visit again!

One small thing I'd like to point out, not sure if this house has a water filtration system, if not, may consider getting one, the water was a light yellow.

Overall, so glad we found Cal-Sey and look forward to visiting again!!

We loved the house and location. Was a little farther than we had stayed before, but not that this was a problem. We have stayed in several of the homes you rent and this was absolutely wonderful. Decor, atmosphere, etc. was totally awesome. We take the
family to the beach every summer and will continue doing so with houses like this.

We had family come into town and we stayed in the Cal-Sey. Since it is brand new, it was lovely. We adored the decor of the house and the location was perfect for the kids (10-17 yr old) and the adults to sit on the deck or by the beach. We even got to watch a beach wedding right in front of our house! I would highly recommend this house.
